Conga in Kungsan

We have the opportunity to repeat last years introduction into Cuban partying in the beautiful park, Kungsträdgården which has a nick-name “kungsan”, in Stockholm. Together with cumbé and Club El Benny we at La Clave/Radioclave organize Conga in Kungsan the following thursdays

We plan to start at 5 pm with dance introduction by Saul. Expect a lot of fun with a Cuban touch happening these days!

SueCu-fusion

Fusion between Swedish and Cuban traditional music. La Clave made the connection between Emilio Estrada violin maestro from Cuba (see here when i jams with Elio Revé) and Peter “Puma” Hedlund (peterhedlund.com), Swedish fiddler in living tradion, who plays key fiddle.

Fusion within different strands of world music is popular. In Sweden we are blessed with a unique instrument as the Key fiddle which has a rich and deep sound (it is an instrument close to the hurdy-curdy). In this project the sound of the key fiddle will be brought into the traditional music of Cuba both in melodies and in tumbaos. Cuba with its rich library of rhythms will on the other side and add spice to the traditional compositions which Peter is playing.

We at La Clave/Radioclave are excited over having connected these musicians and are looking forward to what Emilo’s and Peter’s work might result in.
